Foxes appoint Shelby Dixon head coach, announce 2019 auditions

March 1, 2019
The Charlotte Hounds’ official dance team, The Foxes, announced today that Shelby Dixon has been appointed the team’s head coach entering the 2019 season.

"I am super elated about this new opportunity with the Hounds and becoming the Head Coach for the Foxes," Dixon said. "Dancing and serving the community of Charlotte has been a strong passion of mine since moving to the Queen City in 2008. As a former NFL Cheerleader and former NBA Dancer, I couldn’t be more excited about bringing my passion to the MLL! And what more exciting time than the 2019 auditions for the Foxes. This season is going to bring on so many new exciting changes and elements, so I’m pumped for the new and returning ladies as well."

Dixon has spent over 10 years dancing at the highest level of sports in Charlotte. Beginning in 2008, Dixon joined the Carolina Panthers’ TopCats dance team where she was a mainstay for five seasons. In her time with the TopCats, Dixon represented the team in commercial appearances and internationally in conjunction with the Super Bowl. Dixon also spent three seasons as a dancer for the Charlotte Hornet’s Honey Bees before transitioning to still being an asset with assisting the team on some game days and yearly auditions."

Dixon has coached both competitive cheer and dance teams since 2010. In 2015, Dixon founded Be PRO Formed, which provides instruction to individuals seeking a professional dance audition or career. Be PRO Formed also hosts season cheer and dance camps for school aged individuals.

Dixon will run the Foxes' 2019 auditions, which begin on March 24 at Fuzion Force Dance Studio.
