Member Of Hounds Staff Passes Away

The Charlotte Hounds are saddened to announce that a beloved member of the organization, Scott Benson (54), passed away on Saturday, July 21. Benson had been assisting the Hounds as a Video Coordinator and Scout since the inaugural season began in April, and also was passionately involved in the greater-Charlotte lacrosse community and the Athletic Department at Charlotte Country Day School.
“Scott was a friend, a fan and an integral piece of the Hounds,” Team President & Managing Partner Jim McPhilliamy said. “We will miss his constant smile, his enthusiasm for the team and, most of all, his friendship.”
A Memorial Service will be held in Charlotte on Friday, July 27 at 11:00am at Christ Episcopal Church, 1412 Providence Road. The family will receive friends following the service in All Saints Hall at the Church. Memorials may be made to: Charlotte Country Day School, 1440 Carmel Road, Charlotte, NC 28226.
