Hounds Draftees Off To Impressive Start In NCAA Action


The NCAA men’s lacrosse season is in full swing, and the Hounds are keeping close track of how their 2014 MLL Collegiate Draftees are performing in their senior seasons. Below is a recap of how the players have fared through the end of February.

Michael Ehrhardt (D) Maryland – drafted 1st round, 7th overall

The defenseman has appeared in all three games so far this season for the Terps. He has collected 9 groundballs and caused six turnovers. Maryland has started the season 3-0 and is ranked No. 2.

Pat Laconi (M) Loyola – drafted 2nd round, 9th overall

The short-stick defensive midfielder has appeared in all five games so far this season for the Greyhounds. He has scored four goals while collecting three groundballs and causing seven turnovers. Loyola has started the season 4-1 and is ranked No. 8.

Mike Chanenchuk (M) Maryland – drafted 2nd round, 11th overall

The midfielder has started all three games so far this season for the Terps. He has posted seven goals and four assists with a 57.1 shot on goal percentage. Maryland has started the season 3-0 and is ranked No. 2.

Brendan Fowler (FO) Duke – drafted 2nd round, 14th overall

The faceoff specialist has appeared in all five games so far this season for the Blue Devils. He has gone 68-108 (63%) at the X while also adding a goal. Duke has started the season 4-1 and is ranked No. 1.

Thomas DeNapoli (A/M) Towson – drafted 2nd round, 15th overall

The attackman/midfielder has started all five games so far this season for the Tigers. He has scored seven goals and added eight assists with a 56.8 shot on goal percentage. Towson has started the season 3-2 but is currently unranked.

Josh Dionne (A) Duke – drafted 3rd round, 18th overall

The attackman has started all five games so far this season for the Blue Devils. He has tallied 12 goals and two assists with a 76 shot on goal percentage. Duke has started the season 4-1 and is ranked No. 1.

Justin Ward (A) Loyola – drafted 3rd round, 23rd overall

The attackman has started all five games so far this season for the Greyhounds. He has tallied four goals and 15 assists with a 53.3 shot on goal percentage. Loyola has started the season 4-1 and is ranked No. 8.

Henry Lobb (D) Duke – drafted 4th round, 31st overall

The defenseman in late January injured his right leg during practice and is out indefinitely.  However, head coach John Danowski said that the team plans to have him back before the end of the season.

Zack Losco (M) UPenn – drafted 6th round, 47th overall

The midfielder has appeared in all three games so far this season for the Quakers. He has tallied four goals and three assists, while adding eight groundballs and causing two turnovers. UPenn has started the season 2-1 and is ranked No. 20.

Chris Hipps (D) Duke – drafted 7th round, 55th overall

The defenseman has started all five games so far this season for the Blue Devils. He has collected one goal, 10 groundballs and caused two turnovers. Duke has started the season 4-1 and is ranked No. 1.

Kevin O’Neil (M) Villanova – drafted 8th round, 63rd overall

The midfielder has started all three games so far this season for the Wildcats. He has posted five goals and one assist with a 63.2 shot on goal percentage. Villanova has started the season 1-2 and currently unranked.
