Dentistry of the Carolinas signs on as Official Team Dentist of the Charlotte Hounds

Charlotte, N.C. (March 2, 2011) - Charlotte Lacrosse LLC has announced the addition of Dentistry of the Carolinas (“DOC”) to the team for 2012.

As Official Team Dentist, DOC will have a medical and promotional presence at all Charlotte Hounds home games and will be partnering with the team on their regional grassroots outreach efforts to promote sports dentistry and injury prevention.

“As a leader in Sports Dentistry in Charlotte, our partnership with the Charlotte Hounds is a perfect fit,” said Dr. Clark Hammock, DMD, Executive Vice President of Dentistry of the Carolinas.  “Through this partnership, our goal is to not only educate the team and staff about the importance of dental care and injury prevention, but to continue providing top-notch service to the Charlotte community.  We are thrilled to welcome the team to our city and we look forward to an exciting inaugural year."

DOC excels in the field of Sports Dentistry by providing custom mouthguards.  Properly designed, customized fabricated mouthguards are essential in the prevention of athletic oral and facial injuries in contact sports. It is estimated by the American Dental Association that mouthguards prevent approximately 200,000 injuries each year in high school and collegiate football alone. As sports dentists and health professionals, DOC highly recommends a custom made mouthguard, especially those of the laboratory lamination type, for the very best in oral/facial protection as well as concussion deterrence.  For more information about customized athletic mouthguards, please contact Dr. Clark Hammock at their Myers Park office location.
